Importing Custom Fonts Site Designer...

Good afternoon fellow CoffeeCuppers!

I ran into an interesting situation and wondering if anyone else has figured this out. I have imported some custom fonts by clicking the + box beside the typography section on my project, selected add custom font and added all my fonts. Now what is supposed to happen is for it to appear as a new section in the typography dropdown called Custom Fonts with all the custom fonts I have added. This is not happening.

Has anyone else tried to add custom fonts? What did you need to do to make the new section show up. (FYI I still see the Websafe Fonts and Google Fonts but no Custom Fonts section)

Thanks in advance
Steve

I did it when that feature was added to SD, but I haven't needed it since then. I would need to refresh my mind about it, but it's too late today. I can play with it tomorrow.

Did you create a folder named Custom-Fonts in the resources?? and put your fonts in that folder?

I tried again today, and it works if I fetch a 'web font kit' from Font Squirrel. Then I have to import the .woff or .woff2 file into SD and select it just like any other font. I remember from the time when this feature was new, that it only works with those two file types. I tried .ttf and .otf too, but they don't display on the page. I haven't tried .eot this time, but they've never worked for me.

Steve, I see in your screenshot that you have a pile of .otf files. They don't work as custom fonts. You need to grab the .woff or .woff2 version.

Here is an example: When searching for a font at Font Squirrel, don't get sidetracked by 'download .ttf' or 'download .otf'. Click on Webfont Kit for the font you want, and then download @font-face kit. Also, read what it says about formats. See attachment.

However, if your wanted font does not have a web font-kit, then you need to make one. In that case, download whichever format you see available, and when you have the file (likely .ttf or .otf), click on Webfont Generator and upload it. Follow the instructions, and after a bit you have the kit with your necessary .woff(2) files.

The font I am looking for is the Avenir set of fonts. It appears that font squirrel doesnt have that font.
