Quite possibly I've misunderstood what it's meant for but I'm trying to use the "generic" social icon to create a mailto: link so that visitors can easily email the url of the page to their friends.

Looking at the output direct from RSD the closest I can get is
href="http://mailto:?subject=Whisper...
(see near the bottom of the page on johnkemp.coffeecup.com )

With a quick tweak on the output using Notepad I can get what I want which is:
href="mailto:?subject=Whisper...
(see near the bottom of the page on whisperslongmelford.co.uk )

Am I misunderstanding what the generic social icon is meant for? Am I using it incorrectly? Is it broken? None of the other icons seem appropriate for a straightforward mailto:

Hi John. Sorry this answer is so long in coming. Social icons are icons that link to social media. The icon that you see when you do a generic social icon is the general "share this" link that is used currently on many web sites.

For a mailto link, you may do better to use the Font Icon Link element.
