The first idea you have I think may be illegal. And besides, you would need user ID and password to the databases you want to list, and nobody in their right mind would give out such details to a competitor.

I do not think he means to actually go into the database itself. I think he means just to craw the site and look for the prices of the products. And list them on his site after it was completed...

Yes I don't mean hacking databases I mean a search and find results in a list like a shop view
For example you search coffeecup for vsd and it shows that product and pic and price brief description
Then for other sites sort of like kelkoo and googles shopping.com where you search an item and it checks the websites you have saved in it for affiliates marketing so it isn't undercutting a competitor as your just listing the cheapest one and where it is etc

Well, it was this sentence that made me think he wanted access to other peoples' databases:
What you are saying now, Mark, can probably be achieved easily with the website search that nearly all webshops have implemented.

Yes but some people don't need shops
So this would be perfect for them
It's just an idea as I find little simple things like that useful because I can't make websites
Bit like having 1000 reviews of items then saying this item can be bought from the followIng places for the following prices and then those links could be affiliated but some may spend a bit more to go to a shop they trust
I think it's a no for this idea as I can't really explain it well enough lol

Our Government tried to do something with the price of groceries. It was abandoned as it was too hard to maintain. That is no easy task and approaching the realms of Artificial Intelegence. The FBI could have a model looking for terrorists.
There are sites like that now but the input is by paid subscriptions of sellers wanting their wares displayed.
because I can't make websites
