I diff agree with SuperHarry that if CoffeeCup comes out with a CMS software I would diff buy it as soon as its released.

There is a product possibly for sale, and it would work (I think) quite well with CoffeeCup products. I use it and your stuff all the time. It's called CityDesk by Fog Creek Software.

interesting reading.. hmmmm, I currently use Drupal after testing over a dozen CMS's. One of the big issues is development time, and along with the basic system comes modules to enhance functionality.. There are over 2000 modules for Drupal, that's a lot of developer hours.
I am very happy to have CoffeeCup's cool software that helps me develop my Drupal sites.

I fully understand Scott's comments on this and I wouldn't expect CC to pursue this one..

I've had fun and success with MODx (www.modxcms.com). I began with a Coffee Cup page template, used the Coffee Cup editor to iterate on the xhtml and CSS until I got the look I wanted, converted the site to MODx (fairly trivially compared with PHP include() menus etc. that I'd built by hand in a previous project), fooled around with it on my local development machine using Wampserver (See also XAMPP.) until I felt comfortable, then moved the CMS-enabled site up to my production server.

One cool aspect of this CMS is that I can develop and review new page designs and content on the production server without publishing them until I am good & ready. No longer do I edit / FTP / edit / FTP: I just edit directly on the server using the CMS Manager. Of course I back up the site before undertaking anything risky.

Another nice thing is providing simplified access to the Manager for people who contribute content, yet keeping their fingers out of the site design. It's password protected.

I would not recommend that Coffee Cup reinvent the CMS wheel, because the no-charge MODx wheel I've been using already works great. However, there are some integration opportunities, such as perhaps plugging in the CC editor in place of the simple editor included with the CMS and adapting Coffee Cup's rich client-side functionality to this wonderful server-side CMS tool.

Wordpress is my CMS of choice. It's got plenty of users, support, and modules (plugins) - most of which are free - for almost any kind of dynamic functionality you can think of. And it's probably going to be around for a long time - unlike many of the smaller or non-free CMSs. In fact, I expect WP to become the dominant CMS before long.

If Coffeecup could make a visual theme / template designer for Wordpress, I'd buy it. Right now, the opportunity to do this is pretty much open, as there aren't many programs that let you design directly for WP. The only good one I know of (which I purchased and currently use) is quite powerful, but it's template-driven; you can't drag and drop to create a completely custom design.

This would be a great opportunity for Coffeecup, particularly since the current trend in Web design seems to be toward dynamic, data-driven Web sites.

I agree. CMS would be an awesome addition to CC suite. I tried going with Page Lime, but could never get it to work properly and the support never was able to resolve my issue.
