I have used free CMS out there and you end up wasting so much time on them. I would be more than happy to pay a reasonable amount of money for a high quality CMS.

I too would be willing to buy into a CMS setup from CC. I also use Joomla, but one thing people here are forgetting about free CMS's is that although they may be "free" to use, they usually don't include a lot of the modules that people would need to create a really powerful site. You DO end up either going without or paying a lot more money with buying modules separately from 3rd party developers. Many of the really powerful things you need to make your sites truly secure, shopable, groupable, etc. you have to pay someone for creating.

So although there are many "free" CMS's out there, they aren't really all fully functional as is.

One thing that I'm missing in Joomla is Groups. There are no settings to be able to create your own groups and assign permissions like it should have. Drupal does it quite well, but the software isn't as pretty looking as Joomla at all, it's very functional for if you need to have specific permissions for seeing pages and areas and modules of a site, but like I said, it's not pretty like Joomla.

I would love to see CC make a CMS that rivals Joomla and gives us all the things that we have to pay for piecework with Joomla. I would pay flat rate price for something like this, rather than a free CMS with piecework pricing that I'm currently using.

CMS updates by e-mail is waht I am looking for... ideally from CC.

Some of the sites I manage are club/organisation and different positions in the club need to manage their own space but NONE of them are capable of editing web pages and I don't need the hassle of converting their content for upload. What I would like is for them to send an e-mail and the page to be updated. There are tools and services out there but I think CC could do a fine job on such a package.

Yes please a CMS module would get my vote.
I would like to hand over some of the daily/weekly page updates to key club members knowing they are not going to mess up the page accidentally.
CMS can be a very complex product. If developed I would prefer to see one thats not too complex for version 1 and then build up from there in future releases.

CMS? YES! YES! YES! I have used, joomla, and the one I am currently using is http://www.cmsmadesimple.org/ It is a great cms. But if you guys would develop one, I would buy. Your track record is all it takes for me!

Ok, I made that original post back in 2006, and for some reason even though it's still the same account, when I login I'm a different user. Anyway...

I long ago moved on to using sNews CMS because you can create or use any template you want and the sites content is database driven so all you do is add a few php include tags where you want the content to show up in your template and poof, website.

Maybe it is on here somewhere but it would be really neat and timely for me if CoffeeCup offered a Theme sheet creator for Word Press or the Blogger would work with Word Press... So Many things so little time

i currently use snippetmaster for cms. it works i guess and does what most clients need.

But i agree that a cms by coffee cup would be great.

any feedback from cc people on if anything like this is in the pipeline

Yes please & I fully support a large number of the previous comments made in this thread. An integrated CoffeeCup "CMS" product would be just the bees knees and I would be pleased to pay for it.

I have used CoffeeCup Software since 2003 and I am now being repeatedly asked by users to provide "CMS" driven websites. I want to be able to provide this for my customers & while the likes of Joomla and Drupal might be good platforms as far as I can work out they do not integrate or work with sites developed using CoffeeCup Software. Also, I don't want to learn another development platform & then have to support websites "in both camps" so to speak.

I want to develop websites using only CoffeeCup Software & I am therefore not about to walk away from either the dollar or time investment that I have made to date.

I am confident that a CoffeeCup built "CMS" would be a world beater just like all the other excellent and market leading software they have developed to date.

So yes please, make us a CoffeeCup "CMS", please?
