Has there been any consideration of a basic Database Creation program where users could build a simple and searchable database for web sites?
I agree. How can something so simple be so frustrating! Maybe something that will do nothing more than produce a table with all the information and you just copy and paste it over line by line with some simple instructions would make a huge difference.
great idea, program that would set the databe on line and allow us to modify fields according to our needs.
webassist.com has a simple database software.
I use dbvisualizer at work. It's a little cheaper than DataAssist (mentioned above), but will still set you back US$149. If you want to manage your database, display and modify and interact with it, I can't think of a better tool. MySQL comes with a good suite of freeware tools in their gui package, if you don't need to craft any complex SQL queries.

Would seem to be the next logical program for Coffee Cup as most sites today require this function. Hope to see it soon and will look forward to purchasing it!
I like this idea too, or something like the idea in another thread of an easy interface for MySQL.

I've been dreaming for YEARS of a web interface for MySQL that works like the Query Builder and Form/Report Builder in MS Access. It would seem an ideal project for CoffeeCup to provide this tool. It could include:
1. Easy MySQL database creation, complete with userID and password that are automatically stored in the development tool and integrated with all future elements developed by the tool.
Because it is a moderate hassle to install MySQL on a PC, it would be good for us to be able to do the development directly on one of our connected web servers.
2. Easy MySQL VISUAL table creation, including drag-and-drop relationships between domestic and foreign keys. We should also be able to populate these tables with sample data easily from this tool element. Tables should be able to contain images and URLs in addition to standard numeric and text data.
3. Easy visual QUERY design with automatic (correct) SQL creation from the tool. We should be able to directly query existing live tables to verify our query is operating properly.
4. Easy web page generation, showing the results of the queries we've developed. In other words, we should have one window where we are designing what we want the web page to look like and another window from which we can drag results fields from the query to the right place on the page.
So how about it? Is this even POSSIBLE? For you Coffee Cup geniuses, I should think it's doable, even if a challenge.

Yes....YeS...YES...
a db component is what I am looking for as well .....
as David has suggested maybe an MS access style component.
maybe something that can also convert a ms access table / report to a web page..Including images..
As previously mentioned - the geniuse'ssss at CC should be able to do this in their coffee break.....????

Yes, I second, third and fourth the idea.
The philosopher has not done philosophy until he has acted upon the mere conviction of his idea; for proof of the theory is in the act, not the idea.
