Ecommerce and Zen Cart are free, proven, have simple setup scripts, and have plenty of support groups.
Man, you're talking about server side scripting, mysql database, secure socket layering, and a CC processing service to get this working. I don't think using an xml file will cut it.

CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!
Well, with our Shopping Cart program coming out soon, we're taking the first steps to offering an e-Commerce solution.
But yes, for the most part, you're looking for a much bigger solution than standalone software. Try osCommerce, as well, which is fairly popular and is pretty easy to set up:

I Do not know anything about programming but I find Coffeecup software pretty userfriendly though requires dedication to become proficient. What i think about E-commerce and 'add to cart' software is that the idea of coffecup to aim for a software release is great! what makes me curious is the clients' payment methods. All the ppl i know who purchase online, only do this through paypal. From what i see Paypal is a very thrusted medium. David, would this coffecup software have anything to do with paypal secure payment ?
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
