One of the many sites I manage is for a Christian Newspaper http://www.BRCNews.com and we could really use an affordable flash page flip software. Currently I use Flash Blogger and PDF to make each monthly edition of the newspaper available for viewing.

Here is an example of what I would like:

http://www.3dissue.com/?gclid=CLjHq6mns … 2godblMzNg

or

http://www.flipviewer.com/

Most of the flash page flip softwares out there seem to either be around $400-$500 to purchase the software, OR they insist on hosting pages for you and creating files for you and want to charge you $1.00 per PAGE.

With a 72 page newspaper I find this appalling. I want software that will covert a WHOLE document, not just one page at a time, and I want to host myself, not be forced to pay someone outlandish fees for doing what I could easily do myself :-)

No really, but thanks for trying. I need something to import multi-page PDF files and convert them to flash page flip. There are a few softwares that do that for under $100 but they are not executable files (just scripts that hafta be manually coded), and they convert the pages ONE at a time. Would take literally 4-5 hours per EDITION to convert it that way :-)

Chad,

I will soon be attempting something similar as I believe our company will finally move forward with a plan to make our marketing materials (catalogs, brochures, etc.) available online. The page flip format would be preferable but it would be best if we could move seamlessly from pdf to page flip.

The best option I have discovered to date looks like it might be FlippingBook PDF Publisher - http://www.page-flip.com/products/pdf-publisher/. Unfortunately, the cost is relatively high - $299.45 (Basic) to $449.93 (Professional). There is a free trial version available but it is apparently not possible to publish to a website with the trial version so I'm not sure how much testing one could do without paying for a Basic or Professional license.

If anyone has thoughts or suggestions regarding page flip (especially pdf to page flip) options I would be most interested in hearing about them.

Tom

I downloaded the Flippingbook PDF Publisher Trial and I have to say that I'm impressed. Do I wish there was a better (ex. unlimited vs. 9 domain max., increased options/flexibility, etc.)? Sure. But I have to say that this is the best option I've found so far.

Here's how it works . . .
As a starting point the Flippingbook PDF Publisher is a real program vs. scripts. You start the program, import a pdf file (trial limited to 10 page max.) and the program does the rest (creates jpg files for each page, xml, swf, index.html, etc.). After that you can either choose to Publish | To HTML... or Publish | To EXE... (Trial and Professional Only). When you Publish | To HTML... the program places all of the necessary files in a project folder which has all of the necessary files and sub-folders.

If anyone has better options I'm definitely interested. As I said, so far this is the best option I've found so far - especially when it comes to the time and effort it takes to go from pdf-to-web.

How about Adobe (macromedia ) flashpaper
http://www.adobe.com/products/flashpaper/examples/

I still have the free version, it works as virtual printer for you, you can print any document into flash but the free version does not convert Microsoft office file into PDF format.

An interesting option at $79 but unfortunately this does not provide the same experience as the page flip options.

There is just something about viewing a paper catalog (or similar) and being able to flip through it just as if it was delivered to you in person. You can even here the "flip" sound as you go through the document. It feels real. In our case we hope that "feels real" will translate into reduced printing and mailing costs as customers may be fine with viewing (and even printing as desired) our catalogs (or similar) online.

I am using the FlippingBook on one website and would love to have CC develop a program like this.

CC could make a lot of money on a software like this! The only other viable options start at $300. CC would probably only charge around 50 bucks for it.
