I don't know how much of this is true, but it sure has me wondering what the heck they maybe doing.

I very nearly went for their services once. Glad I opted for someone else in the end.

You don't think it has something to do with a 2 tier internet.

This is an article that was talked about a lot recently on the BBC programme called "Click" that goes out on a Sunday morning.

I use netfirms for my site and they have been pretty good but I have had no other experience to compare them to

This sucks! I bought a domain name from GoDaddy, and a hosting plan from CoffeeCup. CoffeeCup doesn't offer the DNS information or a place to change the GoDaddy DNS to point to CoffeeCup. It seems like I've been had. CoffeeCup doesn't seem to offer a place to edit...

Snake Oil! Snake Oil!

Maybe I'm an idiot and just can't find it, or maybe CoffeeCup (who I've been buying from for years) is a scam...

You have full control over the DNS. Why not just ask before posting such an email? Is that not easier ?

Thanks for posting this Scott. This is scary. I use them for several Domains. Maybe I should consider going to NameCheap.com again.

There are several things I like about GoDaddy, but I don't like them changing the discounts all of the time. I wish they would come up with one set price, and stick with it.

I read the article. At face value, this looks like a great way for GoDaddy to sabotage themselves. Since that makes no sense, I figure that it's either (a) a spurious rumor, perhaps concocted and spread by the (many) people who dislike GoDaddy or (2) short-term fumbling as GoDaddy implements some new strategy that we do not yet understand.

Yes, I looked just like that in 1962.
