Hello, my name is Bert, I live in Amsterdam, the Netherlands and I have used CC software from 1999. Until now I spent over 350,00 dollars on it and I love using it! There is just one thing that drives me crazy....though I like to stay connected and informed I find it a bit annoying that CC keeps teasing me with all kinds of promotions like the last one with the HTML editor. And this at such an amazing rate that it feels like spam.
When I bought the HTML editor, I was supposed to become a customer for life with life long updates. Now CC wants me to pay for an early release of the new editor and to brag about having it before other customers. I find this silly and offensive, I am a big boy now so don't treat me as if I just finished High school, please. And 2: I am not here to brag but to produce websites and I should be entitled to have new released software the minute it is ready!!
Maybe it is a difference in approach between Europe and the States, I don't know. I am wondering if anyone else feels the same about this?
And: Ok ok, I know that I can change my settings in the mailmenu but that would cut me out of the loop.
Best regards for all of you, Bert Hamberg

Bert,
I understand your concern, yet if you read the E-Mail that was sent it states:
"The official release is still a few weeks away, but you can get your hands on a pre-release version and be the proud owner of a unique limited edition theme."
So what you would be getting is a Pre-Release version on the Software and a template.
I am sorry if you feel this is spamming your inbox, but as you stated yourself... You do get free updates for the life of the program. Which means CC has to make money someway because you now only paid them $350... Yet get updates for life... So that $350 you paid only covers the cost of 1 programmer for about 5 hours of work...
So, if CC wants to ask if I want a pre-release version of a software for only $9.99, and I get it now PLUS I get a free theme in the process, it sounds like a good deal to me. Plus I am helping to support a company (business) that I love and love their products. Which if they run out of money... Guess what happens... They stop developing the software that you and I both love...
Or, you could just wait the couple of weeks until the program is ready to be released to the public.

Email trash box is a click away if it bothers you, delete it lol. I see nothing wrong with it myself either as they have to make money in other ways since they have their wonderful lifetime update program. No one forces anyone to buy this early release update, that's totally each person's own choice. Many have opted to do so and I've seen a lot of very happy comments since they did. Anyways, if the email isn't what you care about, delete it. Simple one button push

I'm not bothered about CC always always emailing me, in fact I welcome it. However I do agree with you Bert as regards the recent HTML update thing, it does seem strange to pay for something that is part of the package already, which is lifetime updates. Can't understand CC there but never mind they have been given great deals lately on other software which I've taken a bit of advantage of.

It seems so much work has gone into this latest version, way more than a typical upgrade. I didn't mind spending 12.99 for it plus 2 themes (just the 2 themes would have been more than 12.99).
Don't mind a few CC emails in the inbox at all!

I will tell you a lot of testing went on and is still going on. Just like remodeling a house fixing one thing up makes something else look bad.

Yes I would never make a song and dance about CC on this matter, although I was going to post about it as a query but then saw Bert's comment. I understand that CC have to make some money and that's fine else we wouldn't have anything as good to make websites with. As for the themes for me personally I can never get away with themes, so to me that's pointless, although I know for many that would be a selling point.
I think we have like many things we support in life take the vast majority of goods with the tiny proportion of negatives.

Try fixing up a Narrowboat, I had it cut in half and lengthened 4 years ago, not stopped work since, which reminds me I am off to spend a week in it from this afternoon. having just installed but not finished , but working, my new England essential stove.
Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement
