Dave - That looks really nice. I don't remember if I looked at the old site, but I can certainly tell that you have put a lot of blood/sweat/and time into it. Way to Rock!

Hi Phil
Yeah I deleted some real old stuff and put onto an archive disk if we ever want to dig back into historical records. There are still some old pages going back to 2004 developed in Frontpage V6.0?? . I think I'll just leave those and eventualy archive those out in due course. Its taken long enough to convert the more popular pages. At least Frontpage had a nice faciltity to show in date sequence when pages were last viewed/updated that made my task easier to decide which pages to convert and those to leave in old style.
Thanks for having a look at the site.

That is one very link intensive site! I don't blame you for wanting to pull your hair out by this time Dave. It's looking pretty good though I must say. It has a few things that I don't know if it's just me or not but the Menu has a couple entries on it that highlight 2 in a row instead of just the one you are mousing over. Looks like a dropdown menu issue as the ones with the dropdowns don't have the problem, but if you are on a menu item that has a dropdown and slide over to the right to one that doesn't, then both of the menu items highlight in black. There are only 2 instances of this situation on the menu so it shouldn't be too difficult to find.

Looks really awesome though I must say, that's way more information than I'd ever want to gather for a website hehe. Hope the rest goes well for you :)

Hi Jo Ann
Well spotted on the menu glitch. I can see what you mean now. I guess I can't see the wood for the trees when you work on the site daily. Its past midnight in the UK now but will look into the problem over the weekend.
Thanks again for taking time to comment.
I have to say the support on CC forum is brilliant never come across another this good and I have worked in the IT industry since 1969. Add this support to CC products/pricing and free upgrades for life. As you say over the pond "It rocks" .

No problem, I also use the same menu program, am trying to figure out now how the SEO part of it works as it's supposed to be able to now give you the ability to make sure your menus are search engine friendly which as they stand normally they aren't. I'm hoping that one day we get a lot more control over the menu options of the SCC so that we don't have to be so limited in our drop down capabilities for looks being to a generic listing and can use multiple column lists and rows etc which the Allwebmenus now has added which looks really slick. I of course "can" use it, but it wouldn't match my shop then so I'll check it out on my personal site when I get to the point of messing with that one again :)

Dave you have done a brilliant job and in spite of your page being information intensive, it all comes together well.
If I must find a point to make, I feel that the dropdown/flyout menu colour gets rather confused with the same colour in the table. I just wonder if it might have been an idea to use a different colour there, or even stick with shades of dark grey, black and white. But I am certainly only nit picking as it all works well.

You mention a mountain of archives still to include. How about a page with just pdf file downloads for those who are interested in the old stuff? Web pages are very easy to convert into pdf files, and it will save you having to make new pages to accommodate all the archive content.

And talking of menus... don't forget that Stu Nicholls produces some excellent css menus

ps. Just wondering if to book a place with you for the 21st March!!!

Hi Janys
THanks for the feedback. I have a couple of issues to resolve with the menus. The colour scheme was a request from the club committee wanting it in club colours maroon/black/white. I see what you mean about a clash with the tables I need a rethink there.
Thanks for the tip about PDF archiving, another area to give some thought.
Sounds like a close season project.

RE booking a place 21st March - were you looking at at The commons website. Its a site I developed for a friend at the rugby club.they have just started running a guest house. Its situated in some wonderful countryside yet close to cities like Manchester & Leeds

Thanks for taking time to give my conversion project the once over

LOL
No Dave... I was looking at the big screen match, Italy v. France! I don't know if we will be getting to see any of the matches live, but we will certainly be keeping up with the game in one way or another!

Perhaps you could offer up your expertise in optimization to those who have already added their web addresses in here. Do you use any CoffeeCup software in your sites?

Check out the attached screenshot of your dancecuban site ... the footer area is badly in need of attention. I am hoping that the file is not too large to come through here.

And here is an other area that is not quite "optimized" for reading, and may need some attention:
