And another sampling from the multitude of wild "pets" in our backyard:

My fav "Bug" is the Praying Mantes. Just how it was designed and how well it fits its name. I am amazed every time I see it.

I have seen several stick bugs but never took any pics... I will have to do so and share! :P

No Prism, no hedgehogs, boring dogs, cats and mice, but nowadays we have pet house spiders, mainly on the boat as they keep my son and his girlfriend away , she is scared of the biggest ones , shame we cant have a few Australian sized as well.

Our elegant 'Green Water Snakes' are totally harmless - unless you happen to be a small lizard. Here is one hunting lizards on our terrace...

And a couple of minutes later, - success!

Viv Other than the Orb Weavers who do bite but are not poisonous. You wouldn't want them. Worst "Funnel Web" Anti Venan available if you get to hospital in a couple of hours. "Red Back" not as bad. "Trap Door" Very Bad bite, "Mouse Spider" same as Trap Door. With the exception of the Red Back they all are about 2/3 size of a golf ball. Strangely our "Tarantula" is not poisonous but will bite.

Which would you like Viv. My wife uses a can of spray a week to get rid of mostly Red Backs and any webs around the place. One downside to Australia we have the most venomous creatures on earth. Conis shell, Stone Fish, Box jelly, Blue Ringed Octopus, Funnel web. Snakes are another ball game,
King Brown that will chase you. Taipan a huge list.
I looked some up and it makes you nervous to venture in the bush
