Thanks Adam,
I hope to learn the in and outs of WHMCS and maybe I can add the needed buttons to go back.

Jo Ann,
Thanks for the additional info. The only thing you said in your last post that I would say differently is that Hotmail and Gmail are technically known as web-based email accounts, whereas the email services that a webhost provides are known as webmail accounts. The following two articles helped clarify some of the things you said in your posts that I didn't fully understand:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Email_client
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Live_Mail
So, I think I have enough info to figure out what to do from here. I just need to decide which webhost to use and how I want to configure my email setup, which I'll have to determine based on what's best for the nonprofit my website is for. I also need to finish my website, which I can't do until the next VSD release comes out with a fix for a bug that was in 5.9.4 and 6.06. I understand that should be happening very soon. Thanks again for all your help, and thanks to Dave, Chad, Eric, and Adam, too!
Tom

If you use a web browser to access email, it's a web-based email. If you use an email client application installed on your PC, it's an email client application. Both rectrieve email from an email server.
CoffeeCup... Yeah, they are the best!

Tom,
The distinction I was making is between the email services provided by a webhost for someone who has their own website on the webhost's server vs. the email services provided by Microsoft (Hotmail), Yahoo, and Google (Gmail) for someone who merely has an online email account. According to the one article I linked to in my previous post, the former is called "webmail" and the latter is called "web-based email." An email client application on your PC can access either and so can a web browser, but it wouldn't change the name of the two different services. At least that's my understanding based on what the article says.
Semantics.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Webmail
Webmail (or Web-based e-mail) is an email service intended to be primarily accessed via a web browser, as opposed to through a desktop email client.

Adam, really good to hear from you for whatever reason. I hope things are well. Know that was off topic, but from web hosting, but just wanted to get that in.

I have just set up this site as of 7/18/10 so it may still be a little raw.
Any and all feedback is welcome and needed....

Well TreeBones, that's a very decent setup you have. I've always wondered how one lives with WHMCS and operate a server 24/7 without sleeping.. and you're in the sawmill business as well! Wow. Good luck!
Ooh Eric's got a competitor within these boards.
Back to webhosting subject now... Um, I'm surprised noone's gone with 3ix.org's packages like I do? Maybe I'm just cheap. = D
My tee shirt site http://www.teedojo.com, warmly and fuzzily done with SCC + SCD. I kinda like it even if I've yet to sell any shirts! Hah!
Catch me and say hi!. I don't bite, but I will help you with your website so you can kickstart your web presence today.

Thanks Rod. I hope to show my e-face around more than I have been lately. Not enough time in the day/night these days.

He's not the only one in competition, but I'm no threat nor am I advertising it. As a reseller, I'm not thoroughly impressed with my current service, but some of the recent issues might be my ISP or DNS-related, so I don't want to name names just yet (mine's not yet mentioned in this thread).
Competition?!? Who, What, When, Where? Did I miss something?
How does on compete with:
FREE HOSTING FOR A YEAR!!!!!
Did you hear the theme music?
I sure did!
