I very much like the Yahoo website. It is clear and well laid out with good color and is fine graphically.
Quite easy and pleasing on the eye and easy to navigate.

I'm a BIG fan of http://www.w3schools.com too. Everything seems to be presented right in front and it makes me a dangerous boy.
I also prefer any site without sound - who needs the boss knowing what you're up to?

I think websites are evolving towards infomercials.
Here is what I think is the best kind of website style (because I am more into the marketing end than design):
* https://www.topsytree.com (notice the https? Orderform is right there - BRILLIANT)
* https://www.tomatogiant.com almost the same as above but i like their colour-scheme better.
* http://www.livemercial.com/ - this is an interesting site... similar to the above, in fact one of the above is 'powered by' livemercial
