Is it just me, or does Windows 8 really blow. ;)

I just don't understand why they would remove the start menu!

This is what we get to look forward to!

I am going to hate it for a while. Because I am one that NEVER looks at my Desktop... My second monitor is the only desktop I see... I do not like icons on it either.

Computers are moving closer to what phones have. Apps.

I may grow to love it. But I will keep Windows 7 until they stop offering updates!

I still prefer XP. It is by far the best OS they have ever put out. ;)

Agreed. What's worse, consider the Win 8 UEFI nightmare, as detailed at http://www.coffeecup.com/forums/the-break-room/another-hd-bites-the-dust/?post_id=196889#post196889.

How unfortunate that Apple and Android have stimulated Microsoft to produce such dreck. This is a huge gamble for Microsoft's traditional OS business. If not for the pension funds that would be wiped out along the way, I'd be glad to watch The Big M utterly crash & burn.

Congratulations! Moving CoffeeCup's stuff to MAC OS looks like a prescient move! It's not too late to also support Linux either. (hint, Hint, HINT, HINT, HINT, H I N T)

hear hear to that. I only hope that you get some control of the system. If it is your computer, why should an operating system decide if a program is suitable. I had the devils own job turning that off in Vista. That made a difference though. I am still fuming over the change to the autorun.inf system so for XP I have my own autoplay. I also agree with you SirAGE who wants to mess up a clean desktop, The operating system should have its own inbuilt hotkey system you shouldn't keep having to add utilities to shore up holes that Windows leaves.

I have a beta of Win8 on parallels, and I have got sort of used to it. But I don't like it. Had a hard time finding Control panel, for starters. And those colours! :o

My understanding is Win8 is intended for the world where all our human machine interfaces is with a touch screen. We can however all hope that win8 is the new zune :)

I am quiet happy with win7 and no plans to change for now. They will first get all the bugs out of win8 and then develop win9 to be better then win8 :)

If they had any sense, Win9 would be the reincarnation of XP
