I have been using Windows 8 all day to day, and while I hate the no start menu, I really do enjoy the new square design of the applications. I have also found a few other nice features. Change is hard I guess.

Ask Jo Ann how she feels about change...

If you have a subscription to MSDN, you can get it now. The official public release is in October.
I hate to say it, but it is growing on me. Not having the start menu though is a huge PINTA!

haha oh yeah it's all mine.... and I wish I had that body too

I have been test driving Windows 8 on an older desktop and laptop. I have heard so much talk about the look of Windows 8 but not much about whats under the hood. Windows 8 boots up very fast. The two computers I installed it on run much faster than they did on Windows XP & Vista. I have heard stories about Windows 8 being installed on single core computers with less than 2 ghz CPU's and it runs well. So you may have to learn new ways to navigate but that's part of life. There are easy ways to avoid the Metro UI if you want to keep it old school.
When I first looked at Metro, I thought for sure I would hate it. Now after using it for 2 weeks and having it configured the way I want it, I have to say I love it. It really does make for working with apps much faster. The boot up time is also a huge improvement. So much faster then Windows 7.
I totally didn't see that one coming.

I hope my opinion changes. I loaded it on 2 of my laptops, and I must say I am not happy with the results so far, but have great hopes that my thoughts change in the future.
