Bio: I am an amateur naturalist, crazed gardener, homebody, crafts person, mosaic artist, evolving jewelry maker, writer. My husband & I have run our own perennial nursery in one form or another since 1983. We grow over 1,000 types of perennials at 1900 ft in the Northern Catskills. We live as self sufficient a lifestyle as we can without raising animals that eat the gardens : The ability to work from home and not be under anyone's thumb drives my ambition.
I have written 6 1/ 2 books, 1 self published, 4 published by mainstream houses, 1 mystery novel unpublished and am working on a garden memoir. I have historical articles published in Gilboa Historical Society Newsletters and The Schoharie County Historical Review.
I love history, natural history, geography, geology, old houses [ anything old really ], jewelry, minerals and gems, and everything about plants and animals. We hike, explore, kayak [ placid waters ], photograph, collect and forage.
I was a dried floral designer, have taught adult ed classes and sold antiques & collectibles online for 12 years. I am building 3 web sites to sell my wares; one for costume jewelry et al, one for vintage Christmas collectibles and one for plants / local sales. -
