Compact solution for Long Forms

Hi all Web Form Builders,

Just thought I'd share this with those of you who are using long forms and might want to try this out:

http://puzzlespaces.coffeecup.com/Accof … oform.html

I've integrated the "Accordion text effect" from Rolly's site here: http://progrower.coffeecup.com/accordian.html
with my form to create a long form with a "one page" feel to it. I'm a fairly amateur coder, so it's somewhat primitive, but if some of the experts here could provide a little cleaner code I'd be happy to update it. I've included comments in the source code to show where the various elements should be placed, but if anyone is interested I can provide them with more detailed instructions.

Hope this may be useful to someone. :)

Note: I only have one form with my free S-Drive account, so I may need to remove the form at some point in the future to test additional forms. Perhaps someone with a larger plan might offer to host this in the future?

Brilliant, RK!!

I am sure a moderator will come in here and move this, with proper highlighting, to "Tips and Tricks", or some place like that.
Also, I'd imagine a permanent 'home' for the form can be found in some CC-sponsored S-Drive account...!? ;)

That's pretty slick RK, thanks for sharing it! Feel free to go post it in the Tips & Tricks for the Web Form Builder (HTML Version I am assuming).

Nice Job RK! .:) This is another reason to leave the flash version behind.:)
There's lots you can do with JQuery on you forms.:D
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Thank you for all the positive encouragement everyone. :)

I'm extremely pleased with what a beginner can accomplish using the new Web Form Builder, some cut and pasting from handy scripts, and a LOT of trial and error. I guess that's all part of the learning curve. I've now cleaned up the code and appearance a bit (still learning).

Now if I can just figure out how to....

Have you looked at getting the text for the header on each divide to change color when they submit if the user leaves something blank?

That's a great suggestion Eric!

It would certainly make an accordion form more user friendly when there are "required" fields. I can think of several ways to possibly accomplish it with what should be a fairly simple Javascipt. Alas, I have virtually no skill in writing scripts at this point. However, there are several members here who have written some nice ones with Jquery... (hint, hint, Eric) ;) If someone would like to volunteer to write the script, I'd be happy to make my suggestions, test and implement it.

I'm sure this could be useful for lots of other form users as well.
