Been a very longtime since I tried WAM and never really implemented it but need it now

I went into GO Daddy and set up a seperate ftp user in my shared hosting account. IN WAM I put the login name for user, the password and the ftp (I just used ftp.websitename.com port 21 and enable the passive mode. Wanted to choose my directory but nothing comes up. The window shows up but nothing in it. At the bottom it says selected folder / (Root). I was wanting to make sure I was in the website root not the shared hosting account root but I can see anything in either.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks

OK - sorry - I tried auto detect for path and could not get it to work so I typed it in and it works.

Here is what I'm trying to do:

Have a login button on my RSD site
They login and it goes to a directory page (my term) that has members listed. They can click on a member and it will go to a page that has a form (created in WFB) to that specific member - they fill it out and it emails the member

I'm pretty sure that WAM can do this but having difficulty in setup

Gunshy -

How do I set up security access to a specific folder that will contain the pagesI want protected access to? I have shared hosting accounts with go daddy - Do I have to give the site dedicated hosting?

Hi Byron,
In WAM you select the folder on the left hand panel.
Than in the right hand panel you check the users that will have access to that directory.
You than upload the .htaccess to your server.
Here's my test directory.

user: test
pass: test
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

So with the selection of the folder I don't have to worry that it will close off the site or any of the other sites on the shared hosting plan. Guess I'm a bit gun shy!

It should only place an .htaccess that requires login into that directory. It may place others but from what I've seen those only have this.
#### CC BEGIN WEBSITE ACCESS MANAGER ####

#### CC END WEBSITE ACCESS MANAGER ####

It will also place a .htpasswd at the root of your site.

I am completely confused

Created ftp user in Go Daddy to the folder where the website is located. underuser name I put what I set up as my login - password what I set up - ftp server I just put in the website name. It seems like it comes up but I do not see any of the web folders. I have attached a screen shot

I though there would be a directory of files and folders that I could then set a specific page that would have to be logged into

Thanks

Looks like you have the path set wrong.

Ok I can see what you saying but how do I change that. I have tried auto detect and tried putting in public_html/website.com and nothing comes up. I can show ftp log and I am logged in but I can't choose home directory. I go through the prompts and that screen shows up I can't tell where its at as you can see
