Tom , it might be worth baring in mind what CC try to achieve with all of their programs, top of their agenda.

Making software simple to use for new comers to website design !

After that, they have made more technical parts separate but easily integrated so you can grow with your experience

I think here you are getting into technicalities which these programs in them selves were not intended to achieve , yet allowing a more competent user SUCH AS YOURSELF to make edits of their own as you have.

I for one keep asking CC to stick to this principle, while at the same time if they produce a more technical program, to sell it as a separate program entirely (ie) SCC & then the SCCP

Those of us who cant code especially get tied up in nots when theres too many options, and you only have to read through VSD thread to see what i am talking about

I believe at some point VSD will have a pro version, and I would put money on it HTML editor is hot on the list of to do a pro version already

Even form builder, has a basic, and a pro version though they named them lite, and full

Scott are you about, shoot me down in flames if i am wrong.

And no doubt i will get the usual polite backlash from those who think by now after 4 years i should have grown beyond the basics by now, but i am content to get on with my day job, and use website design as i intended, keeping it simple suits me.

Tom keep up the good work, this is not a dig, but just my personal opinion from a CC user of 4 years i think now.

PS ; if you have a paid copy of VSD & i think HTML editor, you have free storage space, and somewhere to host a free website, why not use it, as described earlier to simplify things . see wedding car link in signature
Started using CC VSD in January 2009, I don't do HTML code, Sales from CC site exceeding expectations taken me out of semi-retirement

Well if you imagine the dozens of storage setups on the web these days, you should also be able to imagine the amount of headache it would be to try to keep up with something like that. Websites come and they go, businesses (storage ones) come and go. That means that every program that incorporated something like this would have to constantly keep up with the code, connections, status of the website, etc. and constantly update accordingly. Personally I wouldn't do it lol, that would be crazy to base my own software off of someone elses business and such.

Bout the only place I see this happening at all is with payment gateways such as PayPal and Google Checkout etc. Because you need those for the Shopping Cart Creator programs, that means they keep up to date with them and that's a necessity for those programs to work.

But the HTML Editor having to keep up with all the storage sites? That would be a bit much even for me to envision the need for. Hopefully that makes sense to you too. Much much easier to just go to your site and navigate to your images to get the links.

Here's a tip that might help though. If you have a notepad/spreadsheet/etc. you can easily make these things accessible by putting the images in your images directory of your site when you use them of course, but ...

When you upload them, keep the name of the file and URL directory handy in a note or spreadsheet. That way you'll always have it at your fingertips :)

If you use the editor at all to create the content for Ebay then use the Snippet ability. Create snippets and store the urls there either paste them there or into the Ebay html area. A text file can also be used to hold a list of image references, just make a shortcut to it and it is available to copy and paste at will
