For creating animated GIF files as an alternative to Photoshop, you can use software like GIMP, a free and open-source raster graphics editor. GIMP provides animation features that allow you to create and export animated GIFs for banners and other purposes. Simply install GIMP, open the program, and use its animation tools to design and save your animated images in GIF format.

I have a coffee cup animation studio application I got years ago in a software bundle, did not use it much and have not used it for years. Use my paint shop pro animation application.

I use TechSmith's SnagIt. Their Camtasia is much more powerful, but opening an MP4 in Sangit Editor lets you select the exact beginning and end of the clip wanted, and with a single click, save it as a GIF.
