HTML codes

I'm trying to figure out how to enter .html codes to do a specific thing. For example, I get the NY Times Digest and it will have the name of some foreign person highlighted and if I click on the highlighting a pop-up note (not a new screen) will appear with information about that person. Its kind of like a footnote popping up on the screen. I am trying to learn how to do this on my web pages but am having trouble finding the codes or html language. Where do I go to find such things.

Another thing I found is someone has a photo on their web page and if you put the courser on the photo it will change. I can't find the html codes to do that.

I have gone to http://www.quackit.com/html/codes/ but I can't understand what they are doing. Does Coffee Cup have a location where these common html codes are explained, or a book I can purchase with explanations and examples of how to do these and other things?

Glad you asked Robert. Not hard at all. But like most things, many ways to 'skin that cat'!
Have a look around Eric's website. He has a lot of examples and shows the code needed for all of them. If you are still having problems, come on back and ask again.

Bob, I have removed your mail address from your post above. This is an open forum, and it's no point in making it too easy for the spammers ;)
Ha en riktig god dag!
