Mel Hardman appeals for help....
My first attempt to ask for some help through the forum: Twice I've asked Adam and Scott if VSD is capable of letting me create a page of 'Frequently asked Questions' where each question would be a link that, when clicked, would trigger a video response to appear ON THE Same page. Heretofore, if I linked to a video, the video had to be on its own separate/different page. I've seen this capability in other web design software. I'm a long-time user & lover of VSD and, frankly, very disappointed to hear that Coffeecup is phasing VSD out...and not answering questions about it. Twice I have been told to go to the Forum and see if someone there can answer my question. I've attached a screen capture of my page I'm trying to build, illustrating what I'm trying to accomplish. If any forum members can help me, I would really appreciate it.

That should be doable. Let me do some testing and I'll get back to you in a few . . .

Okay. Found an old example I had setup, using Web Form Builder with VSD. What I did was create a video playlist in a 'transparent' form. Threw it together pretty quick so it's kind of rough. You should be able to do the same thing, in WFB and create a FAQ page that will display your videos. Problem will be where you want the video to appear. Take a look at this, I'm still looking at another option and I'll get back to you...

We NEVER said we would not answer questions about VSD Mel. That is quite an exaggeration. What you have been demanding of us in support has nothing to do with our products and we just cannot provide support for. That is why you have to go to the forums and ask your question if you can not find an answer when searching. Adam and I often take time out of our own day to answer questions in the forums on our own time as well to help users out. We are not trying to shoe you away and we are not sure why you feel that way. We simply can not be Google, we do not have the time or man power to pull that off. If we did, we would.

In technical support we handle issues you are having with the program itself, not coding or ideas. Anything outside of that needs to be taken to our user forum.

Okay, this is MUCH better. From the 'Code Master'...Eric.

Checkout the example on this page: http://progrower.coffeecup.com/popup.html

Scroll down till you see the link 'Clearing the website folder". This will show you how to have a colobox popup of your video hosted on Youtube. You can create your own youtube channel for free and upload all you videos. Simply change the text "Clearing the website folder" to your FAQ question. You can have as many questions as you like. Each linked to a different video. The videos will popup and let you watch, then simply click the X to close them. Works like a champ in VSD.

Let us know if you have any more questions.

Somehow I overlooked that little script of yours. I'm glad I found it though. Much better than using WFB, although that does work. This is just a lot neater in several ways.

If no one has said it lately, thanks for posting all those tips! :D
