Oh, I came across this awhile back. Haven't figured it out yet, but it may be doing what we've been doing here, only differently? But maybe it can help someone:

Just add the code I wrote to your stylesheet below the existing definitions. Don't replace what you have.

I see the padding now (too much?) but I'm not a fan of the line-height attrib. However, there are several cooks in this kitchen and our recipes will vary slightly.

Is the padding too much now?

Yeah, like you say, so many cooks here. I think Jo Ann was saying to make it 20px padding. I made it 18 now to see what it looks like. Looks nice to me.

But outside of preference stuff, I think it's good ta go now. :)

Looking good, but I think you need more padding/margin with the text in your main content left and right columns. Looks the same as it did before to me and it's just so close together and so close to the border that separates them it makes it harder to read.

You defintely do not need the link to the sitemap in your footer at all. You "can" link to the sitemap's HTML file if you want it to be seen, but the XML file that you have shown in that link is not necessary to have on the page at all. As long as the file is in your root directory that's all that is needed for the SEO part of it as far as that file is concerned (other than submitting it to Google in the Webmaster tools that is). Take that link off and that will be good to go there.

Looking really a lot nicer Melissa.

What browser are you using Jo Ann? It looks like plenty of space with my Seamonkey and Internet Explorer here. Could it be a browser setting?

I'm wondering if it has to do with monitor size? I have a 24" full HD monitor here.

Yeah, it's off all the pages now. I forgot some of them.

Thanks Jo Ann, and thanks for your help and that goes to all of you who helped. This has been great!

I'll stop back and let you know if it helps business and all that. May take a week to tell.
Thanks!

Hiya Melissa,

I am using Firefox, so it sounds like you need add something to accommodate that browser. Since you're using HTML5 and I'm going to assume CSS3 you should be able to make another entry for that same setting with the prefix for Mozilla in front of it to fix that for Firefox. Looks fine in IE so it's a browser thing that CSS3 has added functionality for giving separate setting for different browsers. Check that out and you should be all set to go on that.

I hadn't checked it with Firefox, but just did. Looks fine here. Now I'm really confused.

Ok I've succumbed to the old "clear your browser cache" issue and it was on my end, sorry bout that. It does look fine in FF too now that I cleared that. Hopefully updating to Windows 8 in the next day or so will help that issue which plagues me like Black Death these days lol.

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
