Any Seo experts in the group? I want some one to look over my site and maybe pin point me to what I can do to improve my rankings. I wanted to hire someone and that person told me $800 a month. Wow thats a lot of money but I guess it would be worth it in the long run. I wanted to see if I can do this on my own. Any help would be appreciated. My website is https://minerva-gallery.com

Carlos, there seems to be a lack of content for the search engines to search for, I think it was JoAnn who said "your content is like search engine food"
For instance if you look at your meta keywords associated with your home page, those words don't even exist on that page as text.
Just a starting point, but if you have different meta keywords associated with each page, and make sure those keywords are in the text a few times on the page at least google has something to chew on
Even if it means resorting to having a static picture or two on the page, with alternative text thats a good start
I also could not find your verification code for google or yahoo in your source ? have you verified the website in your webmasters account in both ?
No need to pay for SEO its just time consuming to do yourself but more easily kept up to date and modified if you are in control

I think you're right in trying to address the SEO yourself. Paying someone to do this can often be a waste of money. A lot of snake oil salesmen out there in that business! I'd be very suspicious of anyone wanting to charge $800 a month (a month ????) for SEO!
Google provides a lot of excellent advice on their webmaster pages. If you have not done so already, you may want to take a look at this (starting-) page, and then go from there:
https://support.google.com/webmasters/b … p;cbrank=2
There is a link at the top of that page to download Goggle's 'SEO Starter Guide' as a pdf document. Highly recommended reading!! (For some reason, those guys at Google seem to know a thing or two about search engines and such )

Hi,
I already submitted my website to google and bing. I also submitted my sitemap. I also scanned competitors websites with an iPhone app to see what keywords, descriptions, and h1,h2 and h3 tags they are using. I also used another website to scan my competitors websites to see what other sites they are linked to that are helping there rankings. I submitted my site to several good directories also, yelp, superpages, delicious and others. I also opened a Facebook and google+ account for my site.
I submitted my site to dmoz but apparently it is very difficult to get in that directory and my category doesn't have a moderator. My site is only 3 months old so I know it will take some time. I am pretty sure I already have my site listed on google just not anywhere near the first page which is my goal. I just wanted to see if anyone knew any other tips or tricks that might help my site rankings.
It's funny because months back I used one of my competitors URL address here on coffeecup as a comparison and when I scanned there site that link is helping there rankings. What a mistake on my part considering they don't need the help. Anyone know any tips or tricks? I'm all ears, thanks!

Maybe I should make my hompage larger and add some writing that way I can add the keywords on my homepage which is something I have not done. Let me try a sample homepage and I will post the link for suggestions. Thanks!

Here it is -

I think I added the majority of my keywords in what I wrote. Does anyone see any mistakes? That way I can correct it before I apply it to my homepage. Thanks!

heres a tip, who is going to type into Google minerva gallery, someone who already knows about you !
Google looks at everything, so if your competitors web address is www dot homeofprecolumbianart.com
with a shop url of www dot homeofprecolumbianart.com/ancientartantiques.html
with a main category of homeofprecolumbianart.com/ancientartantiques.html/Meso-America
and a product Pre-columbian Chinesco Seated Hunch back Figure
They have a huge advantage over
Minerva-gallery.com/shop/Meso-America
