Can I embed video player in Virtual...

I have tried Virtual Web Design for 1 day using a template and so far I am quite pleased with the functionality. I am quite new to web site design and would like to embed videos into a website. So, I downloaded Web Video Player 5.3 and tried to convert .wmv and .mp4 video files. I received a "Run time error 429 - Active X component can't create objects". Two questions:
(1) Does Virtual Web Design permit embedding a video player?
(2) What video file formats do Web Video Player convert?

The bottom-line is, what combination of products do I need to add to Virtual Web Design to embed videos and contact forms?

Hi Victor, You can embed the output from the video play as well as the form maker into VSD. I have sites using both. Web Video Player converts MPGs, AVIs, MOVs, FLVs and WMVs to Flash.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

Thanks Eric. I will try converting again. I wonder why I am getting that error in the Active X component?

I don't recognize that error. If a restart doesn't clear it you might want to try CCcleaner. http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

I tried converting .wmv and .mp4 formats in trial version Web Video Player (WVP) v5.3 Build 1 and continue to get the same Run Time error 429. The WVP Tip Box says that it can convert .mov, ,avi, .wmg and .mpg files.

I also tried converting an .avi file which is a test file on the computer and that did not convert also.
I think I'll sleep on it.

It's a while since I used the Web Video player, but I seem to remember that you get some strange error if you don't have some other player installed that can handle the video format you want to use.

Oh, and BTW, VSD is an acronym for VISUAL Site Designer (not virtual).
Ha en riktig god dag!

I couldn't sleep on it and I am glad that I didn't. I finally was able to convert .wmv, .mp4, .mov and .avi files on a test basis. I received I/O error 103 several times during the conversion of .wmv and .mp4 files but that did not appear to affect the test videos when played back. I was then able to link the player object .xml to the web page. Summary results:
Player worked beautifully in Safari 5.0.4 and Firefox 3.6.13.
Player object did not convert to a player image In Internet Explorer 8.0 and did not work.
Not tested on Google Chrome yet as I was unable to find the .exe file to add to Visual Site Designer.
All tests were simulated on my PC running Windows 7 SP1. I will be carrying out further tests in the days ahead.
I am so happy now :D
I think I WILL go to sleep.

Victor, I'm glad your having fun and making some progress. Here's some reading on the 103 error.

Thank you for all the help Eric and Inger. Glad I was corrected - VISUAL not Virtual.
Day 2 Trial completed. Embedded video player worked well in IE 8 and 9, Firefox 3.6.13 and 4, Safari5.0.4 and Google 10.x. The reason I had earlier problems in IE was because IE was blocking either the script or ActiveX components. Newbie, if I didn't describe it accurately.
After installing the more recent browsers IE 9 and Firefox 4, some of the single line text reformatted in two lines with the text overlapping. Does anyone know what causes that problem in the two new browser updates and how to correct it?
Also, is there a full screen capability in the Web Video Player?
