Hi Adam, looks like you figured out how to spell website ;)

Your Mom is obviously very talented, and the site is full of interesting stuff.. The internet and computers were not around back in the beginning of her career,, I bet she really enjoys what you have put together.
Yes, we do have some talented people these days, but not like it used to be..
I had read she used to perform in Akron, I would bet my Mom would remember that. I will have to ask her..

Welcome to the CoffeeCup crowd Adam :)

Love the site Adam, very nicely and lovingly done, I'm sure your mom is so proud of you for doing all that for her. It's very easy to see how proud of her you are. You did a wonderful job on using so many aspects of CC's software, well done :)

Hi, my name is George (as you can tell) and i was born and raised in New Haven CT back in 1954. Started programming with punch cards in 1976 on an IBM mainframe. Went to school for Biology (no jobs) then went on for a Masters in Computer Management from RPI. Trained on Cobol, RPG, Fortan and Assembler. First job was coding CICS Macro Level Assembler programming for a Wire Transfer system. First PC was a Atari 800 that we used to hack to pirate the games.. (shhhhhhh dont tell).

Started web building back in the late 90's using HTML then graduated to AOLPRESS (which i still use today for part of my personal site). Site has over 1000 pages so no time to convert all of them to VSD. Only the main shell has been moved over.

Began bulding web sites for friends and relatives for free a year or so ago using all CC programs. I am now in the process of building a site for a young writer who is self-published and can not afford the 'high-priced places'... She found my advertisment on Craig's list. So i continue to give my time away free.. Hopefully her books will turn into movies then I will be a by-line on the credits page and can retire from my day job....

Only mystery in life I can not solve is the definition of 'SOON'.....;)

Hello all,

My name is Adam East. I was born in Rural West Virginia and raised around the world (Army Brat). I have worked with computers since I can remember yet for websites only about 8 years. Not the greatest yet not the worst. Learning more and more everyday.

I have been using Coffee Cup's Free HTML Builder for about 1-2 years now. And after constant "Adam you need to just buy it, Coffee Cup is the Best, I have used them for years, Scott said REFORMAT AGAIN!!!" I have decided it is time. So I purchased my first CC Program.

My Business Partner and I have a Web Site Hosting Company that we run that is geared toward those that can not afford a paid full featured site. $18 a year for plenty of space and bandwidth is how we accomplish that feat.

Just stopped in to say, thank you CC for all your hard work and dedication to your customers.

Hello;
I am in Carseland, Alberta in Canada. Carseland is in the middle of the prairie, which means I can see forever in all directions. The huge sky overhead inspires me often with its awesome sunrise and sunset shows.

I want to have a computer monitor that can mimic that sky and software to make it possible. But for now I will have to settle for a little bit less.

Web page design and support programming have become a late passion for me. In five decades I have had as many careers. Military, motion pictures, security work, computer technology, technical writing and now page design. I love it.

Nuff braggin', I'm hoping to learn something about CoffeeCup's software so I can help some folks around here to build and maintain their own web sites.

Does anyone know how to get an answer to a simple question without buying the software?

I need to know which pieces of software to buy so I can WYSIWYG edit web pages, in HTML format, that I have downloaded from existing domains and imported into the editor? At this time the Trial software will only work with .vnu files which are useless to me. The sites are already designed, they just need upgrading and editing. Any ideas?

Thanks for your help. Seems like a great community here and I'm pleased to meet you all.

:) Hi Poppa, welcome to the CoffeeCup Crowd!

good luck on that one.. because the wysiwyg programs put out their own code that the program can understand and manipulate. The VNU file is critical to the use of the CoffeeCup Visual Site Designer.
You can paste html code into the VSD program.

You can import or manipulate other web site files with the CoffeeCup HTML Editor, but you won't have wysiwyg

I'm not sure if this thread is still current, but I'll post a little about myself just as a way of introducing who I am.
My name is Tony and I am from South Australia - a town, about 200kms north of the state's capital, Adelaide, called Port Pirie.
I have had a fascination with computers since about 1993. I have dabbled in web design for a few years and built quite a few sites - more by accident than any specific programming skills!
I mainly used MS Frontpage (MSFP) to design my sites because I liked the option of viewing code whilst building using a wysiwyg editor - easy to switch between the two. I always knew that sites built with MSFP were somewhat limited as the program doesn't provide for every website situation. Nevertheless, i have always been comfortable with it. Until recently (when I updated my computer) i have used MSFP 2003. I thought it time to upgrade MSFP and found I could not find it anywhere, so begun researching other software - this is how I found Coffee Cup.
I downloaded the Visual Site Designer trial version and found it very easy to use. I also downloaded the form builder and found it very easy to embed forms into my site - much easier than MSFP. I am about to purchase full versions of these programs and start using them full time.
I also like the look of a few other CC programs and will look into them in the near future eg the Shopping Cart Software (just not sure what version yet as I cannot really tell what each does differently).

I will no doubt pop up on different threads here until I get more used to the software, but from what I've seen, I am confident that everything I need to build good websites is available right here - i hope so.

Hiya & Welcome to the CC forums Tony,

I'm sure you'll find everything you need here for site building and as for the Shopping Cart programs it's like this:

Shopping Cart "Creator" is what you put your products into and create your shop site with

Shopping Cart "Designer" creates and edits themes for how your shop is designed looks wise such as backgrounds, buttons, menu locations, spacing of elements, etc.

Shopping Cart "Designer Pro" does the same as the regular basic version, but in much more details and well worth the price difference.

Shopping Cart "Creator Pro" which is soon to be released is a more detailed and feature rich version of the regular basic version of the Shopping Cart Creator. It will have a whole lot more useful features and will definitely be worth upgrading or purchasing when you're ready to do shopping carts

One thing to keep in mind is that the Shopping Cart Creator programs actually create a full website rather than just a shopping cart to put into a website. This is something that confuses people at times when they don't understand that they don't embed the cart into their pages. It's a full featured setup that allows you to either link to external pages via a Home page you create in external site editors like VSD or HTML Editor or you can create all the pages (I think up to 5?) right inside the program.

I use the Shopping Cart Creator and the Pro version of the Designer and love them both and will definitely be upgrading to the Pro Cart Creator on it's release.

Hope that helps you understand what they are for and helps you decide what to buy when you are ready :)
