Shopping Cart Creator

Thanks for allowing me to download the software to try out. I've been playing with it all day, and it is pretty impressive. I do have a couple of questions though.
I will be selling inexpensive items, and want to encourage people to buy sets of items instead of individual small purchases. It was quite easy to set each item in the cart and the photos were a breeze. I'm a bit stumped at how I could use it to offer the set of items though. It appears that I can only show 5 photos total and we would have 8 to 10 items in each set.
I want to use PayPal and Google Checkout. In the trial version, it appears that only Google Checkout Pro is an option instead of regular Google Checkout. I read an older post in your forum that says the Google Checkout module has to be purchased separately. Is this correct or did that only apply to an older version?
Are there other costs that would be involved besides buying the Shopping Cart Creator and the Google Checkout Module? The software is amazingly intuitive so far, so I'm really trying to like it, but don't want to get blindsided by more costs after purchasing the software.
Thanks.

Hey Kat,

-The maximum amount of photos that can be added is 5. If you need more, you could use the HTML Tool on the product details page.

-The basic version now only comes with PayPal. Google Checkout, Authorize.net, 2CO and World Pay are all a part of the Pro version. This was just changed in version 3.8 which is in the process of rolling out now.

The only other application which you may want is Shopping Cart Designer if you want to customize the layout/design of your shop.

Hiya Kat,

If you do decide to go for it, and if that includes a Shopping Cart Designer purchase, I would strongly suggest forking out the extra bux for the Pro version. It's a whole lot more versatile and lets you style things for a lot more areas than the basic does. Also, if you decide to go with the Shopping Cart Creator Pro version, you can then use this to style all the new elements that have been added to that version of the Creator. The basic version of the Designer doesn't have the ability to style some of those new features in Pro Creator.

Just a thought :)

Scott & Jo Ann,
Thanks for the fast replies. I've been playing with the standard SCC, and am quite impressed with most of the product. And I'm even more impressed to see 2 quick replies to someone who is not even a customer yet.
Jo Ann makes a good point in going to the pro versions, but that certainly becomes more costly. Do you have a package price for the pro versions similar to what you offer in the E-Commerce Package?

Thanks.

If I purchase Shopping Cart Creator and/or Designer now, what would it cost for upgrading to the pro versions?
Also, I kept getting a message that I may not be receiving emails from you guys. I saw a suggestion from Scott in another thread suggesting adding a gmail account, and I have now changed my email with you guys to gmail.
Thanks.

We actually just sent a final e-mail to all registered SCC users about an hour ago giving you one last chance to upgrade to SCC Pro and SCD Pro. Check your e-mail for the details. This deal expires in less then 23 hours.

Hi Scott,
I have not yet purchased the SCC. I started trying the trial version of SCC about Thursday, so I don't even know what it can really do yet, but I like it so far. I've been reading through the other forums on here and everyone seems to be very excited about the pro versions. Then Jo Ann recommended the Pro versions also.
I have not received any emails from you guys, so I changed my email to GMail based on your recommendation to another user in one of the other forums.

If you do not own SCC yet, then you would not have received the upgrade e-mail. You will just need to purchase it outright when it is released tomorrow.

Hi,

I have an inquiry on a similar vein - If I purchase Shopping Cart Creator and Designer Standard now, rather than the Pro versions, do you offer an upgrade path later on?

Also, if I bought Designer Standard & Cart Pro (I only want to edit a basic theme as I've already built a site), can I still edit the theme in Designer Standard & then import it into Cart Pro, or do you have to have the same version of both programs?

Thanks

No, there are no upgrades, so make sure to pick the correct Designer and Cart Creator program you want now. You can download trial versions of each program from our website.

Designer Basic cannot create any themes for Creator Pro. You must have Designer Pro if you want to create a theme for Creator Pro.
