Now that Direct FTP supports uploading to S-Drive, you can quickly and easily upload just about any type of file you can think of! This gives you greatly increased flexibility to build your website with S-Drive. However, there are certain types of files that are disallowed. Pretty much any type of file that runs a script or declares security settings cannot be used with S-Drive because we've already configured these options for you. These file types include:
- .htaccess files
- Server-side Scripting Languages
- Database files
S-Drive is designed to work with our applications and aims to make your web publishing experience as seamless as possible, so there are certain settings that cannot be changed.
However, Javascript files are perfectly fine, as are just about any other type of file you typically use to build your website. Here are some file types used for webpages that are 100% okay (but please note that this list is by no means exhaustive):
- Style sheets (.css)
- HTML (.htm, .html)
- Javascript (.js)
- Flash objects (.swf)
- Extensible markup language (.xml)
Direct FTP opens up the entire directory tree of your S-Drive Site so that you can more effectively manage your files. Enjoy!
