CoffeeCup HTML Editor was the first program that I have downloaded and used from CoffeeCup. The CoffeeCup HTML Editor was my introduction to HTML, and the features which really helped me were the three different panes, the help feature, and the free upgrades for life.
The three different panes that appear in the CoffeeCup HTML Editor are very useful to the new web page designer. They are the code editor, the visual editor and the preview pane. The code editor pane when first opened gives you the outline for a web page with the default tags for a blank web page. Inserting different tags which are readily available from the menus, saves time from having to type and remember all of the different tags. Closely related to this is the preview pane in the CoffeeCup HTML Editor, which allows the user to instantly see any changes made in the code editor. The visual editor allows you to drag and drop elements or you can type the text the way you want it to appear and it puts in the appropriate formatting tags. Then you can click on the code editor and see the code that was placed into the html file to get the look that you wanted.
Another feature of the CoffeeCup HTML Editor was the help menus. The Help menu has many different options to get someone started on the road of creating web pages. The quick guide was the help feature that I used the most and helped me to get started making web pages. The common sense approach that the guide uses is very helpful to the novice who will not get confused with buzz words. In addition to the quick guide there are online help and a download help file which will get the novice started not only with web page design, but also with the CoffeeCup HTML Editor.
The last feature of the CoffeeCup HTML Editor that I will discuss is the free downloads for life. In this day and age when most software companies only give you limited support for their software, this is a very refreshing feature. The free downloads are not limited to the functionality that was in the software when you bought it like most companies offer, but for the life of the CoffeeCup HTML Editor. When they produce new features that were not included in the original product you can download these updates instead of paying for a new version as most companies make you do.
So whether you are new to html or have been at it a while I recommend the CoffeeCup HTML Editor. It will help you quickly create web pages that are professional and serve as a learning tool. If you see a page and you are not quite sure how they did it save the file and open in the editor. Additionally you can make changes easily in the CoffeeCup HTML Editor and quickly see their effects on the look of the page.
