Hello Folks!

I'm not really new here, just haven't been on in a while... Anyway, I own all of the CoffeeCup products, but I just can't find the time to working on developing my own site from scratch. I want to be able to use these tools to maintain a site, but am wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a company/site, that may be able to help. I would like to design a "Family networking Site". Not like Facebook, more like myfamily.com or Hamster. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Depends if it is just for your family or for families in general. Either way, it sounds as if a content management system is in order. You can still use your CoffeeCup products for creating videos, banners etc. to add to the pages... and I use my CC editor for skinning my cms sites and checking all the code for the pages before I add anything.

@Timbo,,
;) I have to put in a good word for phpGedView, http://www.phpgedview.net/
It's very neat for doing family trees and everyone can help multi-user login.. multiple trees and surnames..
example from my family site.. http://www.beallgroup.net/gedview/index.php

A cms system is nice for doing this kind of site, but some stuff just works really well on it's own merits. Such as gedview, gallery2 different blogs and a few others.. The thing to do is decide what all you want the site to do, then look at all the pieces needed, then assemble your recipe.

:) This might be better as a new forum thread..

familylobby.com is a pretty nice already done family sharing site and is free to boot unlike myfamily which started charging us after they got enough people using it free for years so we had to move. It's a pretty nice setup if you're looking to do something that you don't even have to build yourself.

If you're still wanting to do it yourself then have fun and I'm sure lots of people here will be able to help you with it :)

How's this website that I created for my family?

It's at: http://caunanheritage.com

It does not have the blog feature but that could be easily added as enhancement, if required.

Very nice looking Rading, nice coloring although I'd suggest that the dark grey that you are using over the dark red might need to be lighter to be able to read it. I'm uploading things to transfer to my netbook so right now everything is slow so I couldn't test that well but I think it looked pretty nice. Good job :)

Thanks, Jo Ann. I'm regularly making modifications to the site and will certainly consider your suggestion.

For you to appreciate the Family Tree better, I suggest you follow through the following:

a) click on Vicente Caunan-Gregoria Zoreta from the link on the left panel.
b) click on the Next Gen to the right of Conrado Caunan-Christine Castro.
c) play through the Prev Gen and Next Gen links to see the rest of the family tree.

I could possibly display some other information as you mouse-over the boxes, but that would be considered enhancements and implemented later. I'm open to ideas and additional suggestions.

Appreciate your spending some time looking at it. Thank you again.
