Can I download my web pages into the...
I had to reinstall my windows after the PC crashed; therefore I lost the older coffeecup. After I install the VSD again, I could not see my saved web pages any more.
Can anyone tell me if there is a way to down load my web pages into the VSD and work on it again.
Thank you so much!

CL,
Sorry to say this but unless you have saved your vnu file to your server, you may need to redo your website. There is an alternative however you could use CC Html editor 08 to view and change your pages if you have some coding knowledge. and you can download your website files using Direct ftp if again you have the vnu that VSD requires.

ok, thanks for the bad news. I thought I did save the files in VNU form but they won't show now. For the future, what should I do when I want to save in to the .vnu files? If they are in the coffeecup folder, can I backup them?
Hi,
The vnu file is a copy/template of sorts that you make when building your website, is best way I can explain it.
but your pages are usually html so just to clear that point up alittle.
The next website you make, and this is only my opinion, is to also upload the .vnu file to your server, and if this ever happens again, all you would have to do is download all your files and folders, to a folder named website_files like it is now, then in VSD just find the vnu file and your back again, it will of course bring up that it can't find certain images or files so you would need to be able to find those to, best way is to point back into your files folder for the images, which works , and files in the website folder itself.
ONE MORE THING! use the add files under the settings tab to add the vnu, it will automatically update as you make your site.

Bestest way of all is to buy a cheap external drive and a decent backup software. I use Acronis - but that's not a plug. I leave ny computer on at night and like magic all my files are backed up overnight. Here's a small flash drive http://www.amazon.com/USB-Flash-Drives- … de=3151491 less than $20 Or a 320Gig for $125 http://www.amazon.com/Imation-Apollo-Po … amp;sr=1-1
(You may have to cut and paste these links or just Google "usb flash drives" and "usb external hard drives". Whatever.

I have an inferiority complex - but it is not a very good one.
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
