Okay one of the sites has the pages. So I then went to my documents and deleted everything else. It seems to be cleaned up. So please indulge me because maybe I am doing something that does not have to be done or maybe I just misunderstood from a post that Paintbrush sent. I created a folder "My J12 Website" I was then dragging all of the folders that VSD creates into this folder as sub folders. Is this folder necessary or will VSD just organize them for me automatically? I believe this creating an overall folder was because of images. I was just grabbing images off of my computer but when I ran preview they would not show up in my site and I got an error message saying images could not be found. Where is the best place to put my images or again will VSD organize them once I put them on my site? I am just trying to get this organized right and I now think I have become gun shy and that I am not doing the right thing since this is the 3rd time abandoning the site and rebuilding. As I said in previous posts it is not the VSD build platform it is gettting the files correct. Myabe I am assuming I have to do more in this process then I need to when I should just let VSD organize for me. I'm a newbie and what may be obvious to someone more seasoned is not to me. So the more detailed and step by step the better.

Thanks again very much :)

Don't do this.
As I stated VSD will do all the work for you. Work on your site and hit "Save" when your done. VSD will save your site to the location you chose when you first started it. If you do a "Save As" you can save your site as a new name and location and VSD will do all the organization for you. So if you want you can save your site as daniel mersons and VSD will create a folder called daniel mersons_website with all the pages you made in it.
You don't need to touch any folders outside of the VSD program as you were doing. VSD will add all the images and files that you add to your site to the proper folder in your site.

The only thing as I was stressing earlier was to keep a folder separate from the site folder to keep files or photos that you add to your site. Remember the awesome photo of your kid on your desktop. You could add this photo to your a webpage in VSD and all would be fine as long as you leave it on your desktop but if you ever moved it off your desktop then VSD wouldn't know where to find it. That's the reason for a dedicated folder to put these files in. Put the files or images into this folder before you add them to a webpage then when you want to add them use the image tool in VSD and browse to this dedicated folder. This folder can be anywhere on your pc as it's just for your convenience and not necessary. Having this dedicated folder just makes backing up your site or moving your site to a new pc easier because all the photos you added are in one location and not spread out all over your pc.

Hope this helps. We'll get you up and running.:)

Eric Hi. I logged off last night before seeing your message. Once I deleted the extra websites things started falling into place. My problem was I was creating the image folder and bringing it under the VSD folders. You stated in a previous post to let VSD do the heavy lifting. Also the image folder is just in my documents but a stand alone folder just to store them to obatain when I want to put them on VSD. Once I put them on my website VSD will put them in the proper place. If you don't mind please just okay that I am understanding that right:) I believe I'm trying to do too much with the folders when I should just be letting VSD do it.

Eric thank you for all of your help. Today I start adding images and content specific to each page. I'm sure I'll be on the forum asking for help. Just warning you in advance:)

Again thanks till next question.

:)Hello People of the Forum, Eric?

Things are progressing nicely on the website build. All files seem to be in place and the VSD platform is nice to work on. Now on to the situation I've encountered and can't seem to find a solution. I created buttons which will become my navigation links. These sit up in the header area but are built seperate from the header, they stand on their own. These buttoms appear on every page as repeated so the same look is on every page. I have a black background for this J12 site and that can not change. It is a constant theme for the product in all marketing not just this website so the black background is a given. When I do a page preview these buttons appear very light and a bit fuzzy not nicely readable against the black. I use this same font color and size sometimes smaller in numerous places throughout the site and in all other places it appears and looks real nice. So two questions... 1. I can't seem to change the color of these buttons. I've even tried using a very bright color just to see if it will change but it doesn't change. How do I change the color? I tried using objects properties and buttons properties but nothing. 2. Why would this be happening? I guess this is one in the same question. FYI if it means anything... I have not yet created the links for these buttons. Again any help, suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Thank you in advance:)

Hi Daniel. Take a look at the Buttonize feature built into VSD. It allows manipulation of objects with all the tools necessary to make them into linked buttons. Some text will render slightly fuzzy sometimes depending on a few factors. I usually mess around with the button background color and text color to come up with a good combination that doesn't enhance this. The other option is to make the buttons in photo editor and bring them into your page as images.:)

Eric Hi. Things are going so well I don't want to mess anything up. I will try your. suggestions after I back everything up. It is just the buttons in the header. The other places I have created Buttons they seem fine. A question... within VSD do I have to create a button to create a link or can I do something like add a shape and put text in side of the shape and create a link or just create a link from a text box? All of these links I am talking about are internal to the site. The only external link I will create will be a paypal button. Again any suggestions thoughts or answers are read and appreciated.

Thanks you:)

Eric, Paintbrush, Anyone Hi,

I am still at it and come a long way with my site. I'm am now building the Photo gallery After 3 rebuilds have now successfully built my photo gallery. All the files seem to be good, it works nicely in preview and I even did some work arounds for the caption bar so it doesn't look like it cuts into my images. NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I want to upload it to my site. i have a page designated specifically for the Photo Gallery and I do have CC Direct FTP if any of these are useful. I see numerous approaches to uploading. There Is the upload button within Photo Gallery, The tutorial upload instruction within the PDF manual and when i click save it gives me the option to up load. So how do I do this in the smoothest cleanest way?

Any thoughts and help is greatly appreciated. And Please remember I am a newbie still and I am not a computer techie so step by step easy, easy as number 1 do this number 2 do this etc. and clearly with no big words.

Thank you in advance
