I am trying to link a document on my website. I have done the following:
1. Selected the object I wanted to link.
2. Clicked the Link button.
3. Checked "Create a Link".
4. Clicked the radio button under "Document" and clicked "Browse"
5. Found the file I wanted to link to and selected it and clicked "Open".
When I preview the page and click the link to open the document, however, I keep getting a message from Internet Explorer that "Internet Explorer cannot display the webpage" or I get a message telling me to "make sure the path or Internet address is correct."
How do I get my file to display properly?
Teresa

What kind of document are you trying to link to? Not all documents will open in a browser. You may need to convert it or zip it up.

I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

You're doing everything right! You cannot 'preview' a document like that. You need to upload/publish to your server, then you will be able to see your document. Just publish to a 'test' directory on your server if you are not ready to go live, and you will be able to view your document.
