Problems uploading - Post ID 7730
Every time I make a change and upload I am unable to do it from VSD so I use FTP from my host. After uploading the pages never look as they do on my computer so I spend hours sometimes getting it correct. Well I have just made an other change, (just an image on the homepage). After uploading one of the buttons on the left near the bottom is gone and replaced with the image that was just replaced.
I am just out of possible reasons for this happening and I am not able to get the correct button back. When I do try then the main image is not right.

I'm not sure what all changes were made, but there's a VSD 6.0 out now. I'm assuming you haven't tried it yet since the source code still says 5.8. They've done so major work on the FTP uploading process in the 5.9# versions, so if you haven't given that a shot, I'd definitely recommend it. I think part of the problem with the images is if VSD swaps the naming around and only certain files are manually uploaded, the same filename may now be assigned to a different image and so they get jumbled as in your case. So, it'd be safer to do full site uploads (which may or may not be a nightmare depending on the site complexity & amount of content) or try the internal uploading again w/ the newer version.
*Edit* Sorry, I meant 5.94. VSD 6.0 is in beta testing hopefully release very soon.

I've had this issue also and still do with 6.0.
I try to space objects out a bit further apart. I read another posting where a fellow just made his pictures a bit smaller. It's the same concept I guess. Also, whenever I make a change to my website I delete the old vnu file and folder and save my website again. (I always keep a back up). It only takes a minute or so to do this and it seems to have helped with a lot of my uploading issues.
I started doing this when I noticed that there were a lot of obselete files in my vnu folder. VSD doesn't remove obselete files from the vnu folder when you just save over the old file.
I hope this helps!

Hi Sharon your doing an excellent job here in the forums and I thank you.
What I like to do is open VSD and minimize it, then open my website folder and delete all that can be deleted , knowing I didn't move any images and such, then I maximize VSD again and click on save and I have a fresh new folder. I use to do this every other week now I do this once a month.
I'm still not having the problems everyone else is having try to connect how strange is that. I use to also for a pop up effect , I have a thumbnail 50x50 and I would make an extra page for that thumbnail 400x400 and make a link to that page and you have a small window lol by changing page size of course. And by all means Please Keep Backups! see ya

Captive who are you hosting with?
Thank you Bruce. I figure that I appreciate others helping me when I need help (like yourself) so I should really pay this back by helping others if I can. Plus a link to my site for each post can only help business.
