screencast - Post ID 220886
Hi
I am looking at doing a screencast soon and thought that firestarter would be a good way to do this with some good motion graphics however didnt know if there was any history of issues between Open Broadcaster Software (OBS) my screencast software and Firestarter or VSD. I have not used OBS software before so though I would ask before going ahead.
Regards
Dan

Firestarter is flash so my first question will be who is your target audience and what devices will this content be accessed by the most?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Hi Eric
This screencast at present is simply intended to just be saved to file, it is not for immediate publishing however the content of the screencast is the main objective. In terms of what I understand from screencast software such as OBS, you can probably tell I am pretty new to the screencasting arena, it will integrate with existing software and record whatever is placed on the screen and as firestarter can produce some good text animation I thought it could be a prime candidate for achieving the screencast itself.
Kind Regards

Firestarter can do some really nice animations. Take the free trial for a spin and see what you can come up with. I've seen some pretty slick animations on here from other users.

Hi Eric
I already have most of the Coffeecup Software so it will not be an issue to start on the frestarter build. In terms of the screencast I have decided to ditch the idea as it appears most of this software for some reason requires absolutely up to date and very powerful graphics cards, a sentiment which seems fine on a tower PC but not on a laptop, even one that is only a few years old. Therefore in this instance I will just stick to firestarter and see how things progress.
Thanks again for your replies.

To convert from flash you could use some sort of screen capture software.

Here is a recommendation for a programme, but it is quite pricy.

I have used it, and the results are good.
