text box centering - Post ID 7421
Hi ; I'm just starting to build my website with visual site designer . How do you center the text box itself on a web page , for instance my website title . I just want to center it at the top ,side to side , horizontally . I'd like to make sure it's precise rather than just guessing by looking at it . Thanks for any imput .
Sorry you went this long without a response. I don't think there's a simple "Align Center" option in VSD. I usually just "eye" it, but I think if you really want something dead-center, you can insert 2 vertical guidelines and then choose for the text box to space evenly between the 2 lines.
If you right-click in a blank area of the page, you'll see in the menu:
Insert Vertical Guide. You can then drag it to the far edge of the page (do that for both sides).
Then, highlight the item to center, right-click on it, and choose Space Evenly -> Between Vertical Guides. There's also a "Center Between Guides." It appears that the Space Evenly option centers the based on the text box (blue or red border), and "Center Between Guides" actually centers based on the text inside the text box. That may not make sense now, but will if you try it out and compare for a better visual aid.
