VSD and HTML Editor are two different appliactions, and it was never intended that they should merge. If you prefer WYSIWYG, then HTML Editor also has a visual mode.

If you are looking for the ability to see what the web page looks like as soon as you make the change, the HTML Editor has a split screen. The bottom screen is not editable, but when you make a change, you can see it in the bottom screen.
