VSD version 5.9.3 with windows XP. Using since March with No problems at all! Suddenly, I get error uploading. And it freezes randomly. Never at the same spot. I've tried a ton of things, thinking it was because of changes I made.
My latest attempts to fix this:
Removed all embedded images.
Made a new subdirectory on my server.
Last night it uploaded two or three times---this morning it won't. "error while uploading" doesn't tell you much.

The url is ogiekanogie.com/sharitwo

It is in sad shape now--But my deadline is looming just when this happened. It's been 4 days trying to figure this out, combing the forums, etc....

I hope someone can help!!

What changed on your system? VSD does not auto-update, so if it was always working, something either on your local pc or hosting account changed.

It was not VSD!
Took awhile to get back to this post, but I wanted to let anyone interested know that after tons of frustrating hours thinking I did something wrong building my site, or that VSD was having a problem...I figured out it was my new router's built-in firewall. Disabled it and everything was fine. How awful to waste so many hours!

Windy,

Thanks for that bit of information. Not everyone has a router, and that is something we may tend to overlook when having FTP problems.

Glad you have it working now. Does the site work the way you want it to work now that you have it up?

Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
