I just tried here to double check that nothing was changed in the last version and it will only upload the changed pages. There must be some other small step that you could be doing. If we could figure that out it would help.

We used to have an upload single and upload all but we had so much tech support problems with users not understanding it we migrated to the sync option. This way only what is changed can be uploaded. However using any ftp program you could perform what you are looking for. We even have a free ftp program you could use.

Scott,

I am not doing anything out of the ordinary. I made my site. I started making changes and additions. The last thing I did was load my PHOTOS page and I used the ADD FLASH tool in VSD.

Everytime I click on upload, the software uploads all the pages.

Instead of "UPLOAD SINGLE" have the function to be "UPLOAD CHANGED PAGE(s)" or "UPLOAD MODIFIED PAGE(S) and of course "UPLOAD ALL PAGES". I think these are very clear for anyone to understand.

I am positive others would like this function for clarity and ease of uploading.

I still think there is a different step there. First you create your photo gallery and save it to the vsd folder. Then add it to vsd using the flash tool. Save and Upload.

Now if you add a new image to your gallery, all you have to do is load photo gallery, add or delete the image and save it back to the vsd folder. The next time you click upload in vsd it will find that the photo gallery was modified and only upload the changes. If you re-add the gallery back to vsd again it would re-upload everything.

Sorry Scott but that is not the issue. It is not with loading pictures. It is with making changes to OTHER pages and VSD is uploading every page.

Here it is in a nutshell. VSD SHOULD only upload pages that have been modified/changed/corrected without having it upload the whole site. Right now there is no function that allows to just upload the changed/modified/corrected OTHER pages (not the photo page in this scenario).

I hope am able to express this clearly.

Sorry you were talking pictures and flash tool so it sounded like that is what you were describing. However what you described here I cannot recreate either. I have a test Website with about 350 pages in it. When I make a change to say page 200 and that is it, only that sing page was uploaded. Not everything.

The only thing I can think of is the database on the server is never getting written or it is getting deleted which causes vsd to always upload everything.

That makes more sense. I have no idea what to do with that. I just make a change or update then click upload. Nothing fancy.

I hope you could find out why that is.

Thanks.

John,

Have you resynced your site?

Look under Settings and try the Re-Sync Website.

Here's my two penn'orth. Just this afternoon I added a simple text box to our Gigs page, saved it, and clicked 'upload'. It uploaded every page and the MP3 files for the Jukebox. Go figure.

The site is:

http://www.uphilltheband.com/

I just tried the same thing here and it only uploaded the single page. What I did was on my vnu I have about 350 pages. I edited my page 17 and deleted my juke box. I re-added it using the flash tool. Saved and uploaded. First time it sent everything. I then modified a picture on that same page, saved and uploaded and it. It then uploaded the html page and a few images on that page.

I still think this has something to do with the database on your server. It sounds like it is never getting updated or it is corrupt in some way.

It's been a while since I've done any updating, but I do believe I saw my html files all upload but any other type of file, it was only the changes. The HTML files are only a couple KBs and I only have a dozen so it didn't really matter to me. A few hundred pages would be a different story though. Guess I better start testing this out again for this discussion's sake.
