My old web site is mostly .htm files and Direct ftp dose not handle them very well - it quite happily shows the original files but if I attempt to upload a replacement file to my server it appears as though the file is empty.
It has the correct name still but zero size and is not recognised any more by the editor or any browser.
Is there a way out of this or do I need to re-tag every one of many files and alter the contents to match the new names?
Best regards
Norman

Thats' a weird behavior. I just test on htm files and it seemed fine for mine. Can you provide a link to page affected by it?
I can't hear what I'm looking at.

Probably better address these errors.

I guess I don't know what it looked like before you used direct ftp.

It all works on every browser I have tried.

p.s. That file hasn't been thro' DFTP - if it had it would not have any content. That is the problem - why does DFTP not copy it over anyway, with or without faults?

pps. DFTP will not upload any of those files, htm or html but it downloads them all OK. What is going on?

I would open a support topic. Maybe the CC gurus can figure out what going on.

Just curious...in your server settings in DFTP do you have the 'passive' box checked? Are you using standard FTP or one of the other protocols? Have you tried using Filezilla ( just to see if it is a DFTP problem or a server issue ) ?

I've been using Terrapin ftp for about 12 years (and still have it on my XP computers but it won't run on Windows 8) with no problems - it's only on dftp that this problem has cropped up. I have another web site as well but so far have not proved whether that will upload properly. (it does download OK).
Have something to add? We’d love to hear it!
