Jack, have you tried uploading from within GoDaddy? Go to the control panel – manage files and have a look. Then try uploading your index file from within the file management options.

Also, have you tried uploading from within VSD (are you using VSD)? You can enter your FTP info and test the connection there.

Gunsmoke I am using the DFTP. I will get with Go Daddy on Monday. They may have setup my password and user ID but did not give me the premission I need to write to their server.

paintbrush, I did try to us the FTP function in VSD, and it never would connect. Scott tried it from his system using all of my setting and was able to connect. So that is why I am not sure if it is me or Go Daddy.

If Scott could connect, then it's you. Has to be something on your system. Firewall, antivirus or something . . .

Did you try uploading a file from within the GoDaddy file manager?

paintbrush, no I did not, but I will try that, thanks.

Gunsmoke, what Scott did was try the FTP that is built into VSD. That one was not connecte=ing. I can get to Go Dddy with DFTP but that is then causing the issue.

I have a page that I did in HTML Editor a few years back and it needed an update , so I created the new page that was needed, and added new graphics, edited the index page and then went to DFTP select my S-Drive account and up loaded the edited index page and the new page, I also uploaded the new graphics to the specific folder where all the images are kept and everything went as it should. I verifies that it was working on the internet and all is good.

So do you still think the Go Daddy uploads issue could be on my side? It would seem to me that I would have the same issues with my site using DFTP as I am with Go Daddy.

I am wondering if Go Daddy gave me the right to upload files.

Unknown. Since it's not your hosting account you've been given either cpanel access or an FTP account. It still has to be a permissions problem since you uploaded to s-drive with no problems. As I said, I'm on GoDaddy and use it all the time. The access I gave you I logged in with first and was able to upload to the GoDaddy account. So, either you don't have full access to your clients GoDaddy account or the problem is still on your end. I don't know who your client is, or if they'd go for it, but if you could get their credentials and log on you may have better luck.

Other than that, the only thing I could suggest is contacting GoDaddy and working it from that end.

For sure I would simply try what Paintbrush suggested and log into the server. If you have cpanel access that will tell you. If you have direct FTP access then go to the file manager and you should be able to upload your files.

When it is set up correctly, there is no conflict between DFTP and GoDaddy.

Actually my client is my next door neighbor, so that will not be an issue. I will get with him tomorrow and see what happens.

Again thanks for all your help.

I will let you know what the outcome is.
