Cannot find updated editor - Post ID...
Hi,
A few days ago I updated the 833 version by overwriting it with the newer 841 version.
However, when I open the editor it is still the 833 version. What did I do wrong?
Thanks,
Ed

Hard to say. Did you by any chance leave the 833 version open when updating? Not sure if that may be the reason, though. You may try uninstalling your current version and then update with the new one, that should help.

I tried to uninstall but it does not show in the win 10 software list where one can uninstall applications and it does not show in CCleaner's uninstall list.

I tried "Go into Windows Control Panel > Remove Programs" but the editor is not listed there.
Sounds like the HTML Editor really has been uninstalled. One more check you can do: Go to
c : //users/*your user name*/ App/Data/roaming/CoffeeCup Software/
and look for a file Coffee.exe and a folder 'CoffeeCup HTML Editor'. If you don't find them, the app is uninstalled. If they are there, run that file I pointed you to in the article in my previous post.

Well, no, it has not been uninstalled.
I can easily open it by clicking on the icon in the task bar and I can see the entire app on one of the drives.
It just isn't on the "remove programs" list or in the CCleaner list.

I have been assuming that you had installed the Editor to its default location, which is that Roaming folder I mentioned in my previous post. If you installed it to somewhere else, then you're on your own. Maybe you can use the manual cleanup described in the article.

Well, yes, I did install it to a different folder on a partition.
Didn't know that would create this kind of a problem.

Maybe, and I'm not sure of this, so MAYBE, you can install the latest version of the program to the default location even though you have an older version sitting there somewhere. But if you do, you have to delete all your shortcuts to the old version, or at least rename them, and make sure that you have the new shortcuts handy if you want to use the new version. Other than that, you'll have to 'play by ear'. And for the future, just accept the default location of a program, it makes things much easier.
