Hi everyone,

This is my first-ever post into this part of the Forums so if I shouldn't be posting into this part, please let me know.

I'm using Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 2 installed. I just recently installed CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2008 over the top of CoffeeCup HTML Editor 2007, I noticed after I created a new Project, I started adding folders in, but after 2 folders, even though I go through all the copying folders process, it all goes well, but there is no folder in my Project folder under Projects, and there is no actual folder in Windows Explorer. For example, folders About Me and Classes go through OK, but then I get to Clipart, CoffeeCup acts like it's all going the copying process and acts like it's done, but there is no Clipart folder in the Project panel and the folder doesn't even exist in my site folder in Windows Explorer, I don't know if there's anything I'm doing wrong or not.

IF anyone can help me out with this, I'd really appreciate it! :-)

Yours sincerely,

I am having the same kind of problem. Starting a new project should load all the folders and files from the "Selected Location". I get one folder out of about 20 and 1 file in that folder out of 100s in this folder and none of the other subfolders or files from the Project Location.

Changing Folders View in XP to not hide extensions as tech support suggested didn't do the trick.

I have a feeling there's some trick to getting this to work, but haven't found it yet.

Tech support has been great about answering requests for help, so we'll see what they believe the solution is.

Bradley,

There is not actual PROJECT folder, but there is a file created that pulls the files together in the HTML editor. I have not tried to build a NEW project, but I have created projects from files on my computer. I had all the files for a web site in a single directory before the 2008 version of HTML Editor was released, and I just created the project by selecting that folder.

I just created a new empty project, and the program created the folder for the project in the location I selected. I will play with it some more and see what happens.

Kroy.

You might want to click on profile and change your forum name to something other than your email address. Don't need to make things too easy for the spammers of the world.

Here is what I do to create a project from existing files:

click on the project tab on the left side.

click on the left icon at the top of the project window and select new project.

select create from existing files

Name the project in the top box.

In the next box, I click on the open folder button and navigate to the top folder where the project is located, select that folder, and click on OK.

Then since I don't want to bother with server information, I click on OK in the create new project box.

Now, I have a project will all the files and folders that were in the folder that I selected.

Hope this helps.

I was advised by a help call to uninstall the software, then reinstall the current version. The files were then viewable from windows explorer. I'm running VISTA and couldn't see them.

Guess the solution is when updating uninstall the previous version first.

Thanks so much everyone for trying to help me out, I really appreciate it. I've tried uninstalling HTML Editor 2008 and re-installing it a month or so ago and nothing helped.

I now know, silly me, why some of my folders haven't appeared in Projects. The reason they don't seem to appear is because the folders are empty. I'm pretty sure the folders HTML 2007 used to come up regardless if they were empty or not, but I've got to admit, I do like the new way!

Thanks again everyone! :)

yes you guessed it right, the solution is when updating uninstall the previous version first, unless you ininstall it the clash in the registry is bound to happen
