Being a simpleton all I want to do is copy a selection of cells from an excel spreadsheet & paste them onto a blank page within my website.
It sounds so simple but I can't seem to make it work.
What am I missing?

Probably the easiest, is to do a screen capture and make a graphic of the area your trying to show.
I use a small free program called "mwsnap" you can google it to find a link.
If it's a large area you want to show, you may want to turn it into a pdf file with a link to open it up.

Another option is to click on file and select "Save as Web Page" and then use what html you want from the saved pages.
