Hi -
I've just bought the HTML editor today. I have been using BlueGriffon which is great but is no longer supported.

My problem is that I can only see the HTML code. if I make a change I must alter the code, then look at it via a preview.

I would like to be able to edit through WYSIWYG by, for example, stretching an image until it looks right. One website I looked at says this is possible through the paid version, which I have.
Can anybody advise?

Many thanks

Did you download a trial version first, to see what the program can do?

The visual editing was included in HTML Editor some 12-13 years ago. It was taken out because the users kept switching back and forth between visual and code editing, and that caused a mess to the overall code.
Then came the need for responsive sites, which made the visual editing impossible, because it positioned the page elements absolutely. The website where you found that HTML Editor can work as WYSIWYG must be very old.

The nearest you get to WYSIWYG now is by using CC's Site Designer.
Ha en riktig god dag!

Thanks, Inger, for the quick and clear response.
When using BlueGriffon I often switched back and forth and had no trouble.
I blame myself - as you imply I should have downloaded the trial version first.

Hi Robert,
You can do split screen in the Html Editor by hitting F12.
I can't hear what I'm looking at.
It's easy to overlook something you're not looking for.

WYSIWYG editors sound great in theory. However, in practice they can cause problems ranging from minor and annoying to serious and content breaking. Some of these problems are visible to the average user, some of them only nerdy developers will notice, but all affect the performance of your content and online marketing channels such as your industrial website or email marketing program.

Inherent Issues with Editing HTML in a Browser
Most problems stem from the fact that WYSIWYG editors are ultimately outputting HTML and using JavaScript to allow editing — all in the browser.

That last bit is important: all in the browser.
