I am an absolute newbie and I am trying to get a service business website up asap. so I am starting from scratch.
On it I want to eventually be able to have features such as live chat, forum and a blog. I also want to be able to change my site( once published) as needed, maybe rewrite some of the script etc.
Can I do all these things with VSD? Or should I start with the HTML editor? I do not know HTML nor do I know Microsoft Word.
So I am not coming from a strong background but I am prepared to put in the effort to learn.
I have a hostgator account which has C panel in it also. My operating system is Vista Home Premium. My website will be eftsessions.com Thank-you
HTML Editor or VSD? - Post ID 5265
sandranz,
You can do a lot with VSD and not know anything about HTML programming. If you build a website with VSD, and make a change using an editor, VSD will not know about the change and the next VSD change will wipe out your edits.
If you want to learn HTML, the HTML Editor has a Visual Editor that will let you edit in a WYSIWYG environment. As you learn HTML, you can edit the code using the Code Editor and as you become proficient, you may find yourself using the code editor exclusively.
The choice is really yours to make. There are many great sites built with VSD, and there are many great sites built with the HTML Editor.
Just remember that if you have any problems or questions, post a message here, explaining what you are trying to accomplish, and if possible, include a link so the entire problem can be viewed and it is very likely that someone will have the answer.
