One thing you could try, which can't go wrong, is to open the jpgs with blue background in a graphics programme, like Xara, Photoshop or something, and make a new layer (still in the graphics prog.) with the text. Then you merge the two layers and refresh the whole thing in your VSD pages.

But really, it shouldn't be necessary to use a graphics prog.
