What works off line doesn't work...

Hello,

I have used CoffeeCup for years and years but stayed with edition 6 until I had to, recently, jump to 12.

I have loaded an image using" Insert-Image" putting image in a folder named images(in a folder named projects)
I change some of the words I previously typed on the document

I look at it Local-Preview and it looks fine

I save the page I then upload the page, then check the page. The words I typed are right, but the picture wears a broken ghostly icon

I tried uploading the photo separetly from the file, like one did in 6, but that didn't do anything

Can you help please?

I don't do projects, partly for the reason that I feel I'm losing control over what goes where. Old fashioned perhaps, but I always get the files exactly where I want to have them.

Could you share a link so that we can take a look at the code. Then maybe we can help you.
Ha en riktig god dag!

As I wander through the wreak of my site, I see on the www.seabirdstudio.com/ Reviews.html page that what I put together in local preview is NOT what I get on the actual online page. How am I supposed to do this? Yikes.

To the person who told me to upload in binary....and how do I do that please?

The logo was slow-loading for me and the tomatoes pic doesn't show at all.
It would be better to size your pictures in an image editor before placing them in your website. they'll load much quicker if they're at the right size already (and optimized for web).

Logo >>> 1,350px × 360px (scaled to 410px × 115px

Tomatoes (0px?) >>> 0px × 0px (scaled to 866px × 644px

It was I, I cannot tell a lie. Ok the reason I said upload in binary and how it is done is go to the Action tab and choose Binary. Default is Auto and that requires that the program interprets the type of content. The reason I suggested it was when including an image with some RTF I was uploading for a CMS test I found the image distorted so by forcing binary it uploaded true. I have also found auto does not upload php scripts correctly sometimes. I am assuming of course you are using either Free FTP or Direct FTP.

Paintbrush is right, image size is important Big = slow, Smaller = faster. Just for interest, I discovered that an image's extension is not required. A browser can resolve the type itself so if myimage.png or myimage.jpg is renamed myimage the browser will display it regardless of type.

This is a boon to scripters who would see the implications immediately. A browser is a brilliantly constructed program who's abilities far extend the use they are normally credited with. They are in fact program interpreters. As such they can be used thus. I could not use them the way I do if it was any other way.

Good info about the logo, thanks

About the picture size, I always size them myself after I have them installed, fit the place visually

So you guys focused on exactly that which is NOT important, hahaha

I will try the binary

But, What am I doing wrong that doesn't allow me to make pictures show online?

THAT is my problem. they show up in local but not in the online page.

I see your image is named photo.JPG.
I would make sure your image is not photo.jpg.
Windows doesn't see the difference but browsers do.:)
