I hit the submit button but the screen went blank so I don't know if my question was submitted.

I made a image map of some cities in the US. I would like to be able to click on a city and have a picture (of our office in that city), open next to the image map on the same page. Is this something I can do with Image Mapper? If so, can you tell me how? Thanks! Mp

I'm not sure whether you can open the location 'on the same page' if you by that mean you want to have a small window to open while the page is still open. I think that has to be done with some script for popups. But all the other things you mention can be done easily.

I have a picture on a web page of my map of the US. What I would like to happen is when I click on Chicago, for example, the page will show the US map as well as the picture of our chicago office next to the US Map on the same page (actually immediately next to it). No new windows. Thanks for the help!

Once they click on the image-map what is supposed to happen? Do they go to a linked page, or do they just stay where they are and the picture shows up next to where they clicked? If it's a normal image-map link to another page then perhaps you would like the image to show up before they click, when they just hover the mouse over the link in the map?

Hi Cary, I wanted them to stay where they are and the picture to show up next to where they clicked...I found away around the problem until I understand CSS a little better (I guess you can write scripts to do what I am looking to do...if you want to take a peek the page is located at http://www.mpz3.com/pages/mimn.html Thanks for the help.

I made the background of my image transparent in my gimp. So the actual jpeg does have a transparent background. Is it possible/impossible to maintain the transparency after that image is mapped?

I'm asking because the background on the map I made is not transparent in my HTML Editor preview windows.

Thanks!

So far, so good.

Oops, you need to use GIF or PNG. JPEG does not support transparency.

Transparent images should work just fine as image maps.
